I'm concerned it will be too depressing.
Each and every one of us will face death, and we recognize endings as the beautiful, dignified conclusions to cycles that they are. We teach within an intentional container of compassion, understanding, and community, widening the narrative around death and dying and demystifying the end -of-life. (Also, deathworkers and hospice nurses are actually the funniest people, ever, so you really have nothing to worry about.)
Can I really make a difference as a Death Doula?

I have no medical background. Will I be able to keep up?
Death doulaship is non-medical end-of-life care and does not require any sort of medical background. This course is for anyone interested in learning about the realm of death care, regardless of education or professional background.
Will this course be recognized or certified by any professional organization?
This is an introductory course designed to provide and entrypoint into end-of-life care and death doulaship. You can earn your death doula certification from The Deathwives in Death Doula 201 (this is the prerequisite to 201, so you're on the right track!). This course can also serve as a stepping stone to more advanced certifications like Deeper Deathwork and Deathschool.
